Jeff wrote the book on music placement in media, establishing the Jeff Wayne Music Group in 1968 and revolutionising the industry. Jeff has scored compositions for some of the most familiar, well-loved and iconic commercials ever put to film. Whether Gordon’s Gin, Abbey National, Esso, Ford, the LBC or TVAM themes, Jeff’s contribution to the continuing impact that composition plays in the industry cannot be overstated.
Jeff, a thirteen times platinum recording artist, created the iconic ‘The War of The Worlds’, an audacious concept only matched in breadth by its sales. Originally released by CBS Records in 1978, it has enjoyed huge success and critical acclaim across the globe with over 15 million records sold and spending over 330 weeks in the UK Album Charts alone (to date). The album won two Ivor Novello Awards and the US ‘Best Recording in Science Fiction and Fantasy’, with the judges including Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Alfred Hitchcock, as well as winning for Jeff, Classic Rock's 'Showman of The Year' Award. Other awards for Jeff include a Grammy nomination for David Essex's single 'Rock On', which reached no.1 in the US, and various Advertising Awards.
Since 2006, six triumphant UK and international arena tours have thrilled audiences with what has become recognised as one of the most ground-breaking productions ever seen in live entertainment. 2016 saw a special stage production produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd at London’s Dominion Theatre with Jeff conducting on stage.
